Who Are You Aiming to Please? God or Man?

People Pleasing

What is it about us that make us feel as though we must please people?  Do we need to feel important?  Why is it that we care so much about what other people think that we get ourselves into financial situations that we find hard to get out?  The crazy thing is that we do it all to prove something to people who can care less about what we have and/or don’t have.

In their eyes you’re already on top.  You’re already and have it going on.  I mean, that’s what they think.  But you feel the need to prove it to them.  It’s not them that have the problem.  It’s YOU!

Distractions

We pray specific prayers asking God to open doors for growth so that we may continue to be a blessing to others.  When God answers those prayers, the enemy pops up and dangles what looks like a better opportunity in front of us, but it’s a trap.  Sometimes it is hard to hear God’s voice when you are distracted by so many things.  However, you know its God because it feels right, makes total sense and Holy Spirit led.

God is not a God of confusion.  He wants us to prosper.  We are His children and He would like to be the proud father.  The choices that we make can prove to be life changing.  It can be life changing in a good way or a bad way.

Your Will, Your Way

Just imagine your child comes to you to talk to you about what he wants more than anything.  He has been asking you for quite some time now, but it had to be done on your time.  Of course, you needed to test your child to see just how bad he wanted it.

So, another opportunity is presented to him and because he is wrapped up in materials and what other people think of him, he aims for the opportunity that prolongs what it is that he initially asked you for.  Although it sounds like a good opportunity, it’s not the best opportunity.  So, he chooses wrong and now as his parent, you must discipline him.

Let Him Lead

That’s what it’s like when we pray and ask God to open doors for a new endeavor.  You may not know it, but He is working behind the scenes to bring that new endeavor to fruition.  Now you on the other hand while waiting, decide to add something else to it, without God’s approval.

You went and did things on your own, pushed God out of the driver seat, and you took the wheel.  When you decided to take over, the enemy hitched a ride and presented you with his offer that you think cannot be refused.  DON’T DO IT!

Please God

God is watching this transaction and is hoping that you will remember what He taught you.  He’s hoping that you will trust Him.  When making life changing decisions, He wants you to always check the motives of everyone involved, including yourself.  If the motives don’t align with His Word, then it’s a no go.  RUN and RUN FAST!

Think about the cartoons that you watched when you were growing up. Whenever there was a choice to make there was an angel on one shoulder and a devil with a pitchfork on the other.  They both were instructing the character on what they should do.

Well, that’s now our reality.  We have the Holy Spirit in one ear and the devil in the other.  You must be able to decipher who is who.  The only way to do that is having an intimate relationship with God.

Who Are You Pleasing

Ask yourself who am I aiming to please?  Is this a God thing or a man thing?  Is pride the root cause for making such a bad decision?

Before going any further, the same way that you went to God to ask what it was that you wanted, seek Him for guidance with the new opportunity as well.  He will never lead you wrong.  He is the creator of all things.  He knows all things and sees all things.  He knows what’s best for you.

Man doesn’t have power over anything on this Earth without God’s help.  Therefore, man’s opinion of who you are and what you have or don’t have DOES NOT MATTER.
